Smestow Vale Team Prayer Diary 
July 2021 
 Please pray for all in long-term sickness or incapacity, including James Clowsley, and Andrew Powney. 
Thursday 1st July - Bramblewood, Wombourne 
Please pray for countries throughout the world where shortages of vaccines, oxygen and medications are causing unnecessary deaths.  Pray particularly for Uganda, remembering the Bishop of North Kigezi who died from Covid19 recently. 
 
Friday 2nd July - Brantley Crescent, Bobbington 
Please pray for Brazil where little has been done to restrict the spread of the virus.  Pray for a change of attitude by the leadership to immunise and protect their people. 
 
Saturday 3rd July - Thomas, the Apostle 
“Almighty and eternal God, who, for the firmer foundation of our faith, allowed your apostle Thomas to doubt the resurrection of your Son till word and sight convinced him: grant to us , who have not seen, that we may also believe and so confess Christ as our Lord and our God.” 
 
Sunday 4th July - Trinity 5 
“Grant, O Lord, we beseech you, that the course of this world may be so peaceably ordered by your governance that your Church may joyfully serve you in all godly quietness.” 
 
Monday 5th July - Brantley Lane, Bobbington 
Please pray for all who receive Communion at home, particularly in these difficult times.  Pray that this may happen with all necessary precautions in place. 
 
Tuesday 6th July - Bratch Common Road, Wombourne 
Pray for the Retirement and Nursing Homes in the Smestow Team area.  Pray particularly for the resumption of Communion at Brunel Court and possibly at Maywood and Orton Meadows. 
 
Wednesday 7th July - Bratch Gardens, Wombourne 
Please pray for the Pastoral Group meeting today as they consider how to fully restart visiting in Wombourne and in other parts of the Team. 
 
Thursday 8th July - Bratch Hollow, Wombourne 
The pandemic has, to a large extent, caused us to forget about the greater danger of climate change.  Pray that that may come to the forefront of our agendas once again and that we may be inspired in our endeavours.  Pray particularly for our intentions to set up an eco-church. 
 
Friday 9th July - Bratch Lane, Wombourne 
Please pray for the Team clergy: Paul, Richard and Sue.  Pray for wisdom to see the way forward in these times of change in the diocese. 
 
Saturday 10th July - Bratch Park, Wombourne 
Covid 19 has caused great disruption to the education of our young people and to their prospect of employment on leaving education.  Please pray for them as they try to catch up on their studies and as they prepare themselves for the wider world. 

​Sunday 11th July - Trinity 6
 
“God of our pilgrimage you lead us day by day to the living water: refresh and sustain us as we go forward on our journey.” 

Monday 12th July
 - Brickbridge Lane, Wombourne 
Please pray for the parishes of Swindon and Himley, at present without a designated minister.  Pray for James and others maintaining Sunday worship in the two villages, and for a new priest to be appointed soon. 
 
Tuesday 13th July - Bridgnorth Avenue, Wombourne 
Please pray for the staff morning this morning in Wombourne and for the PCC meeting at 7 pm at Himley.  Pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit at both these meetings. 
 
Wednesday 14th July Bridgnorth Road, Himley 
Please pray for the parishes of Bobbington and Trysull, for Richard, the Team Vicar, for William the Reader and for all who worship there.  Pray that God’s kingdom may continue to grow in that part of the Team. 

Thursday 15th July
 - Bridgnorth Road, Wombourne 
Pray for the churches of the Venerable Bede and St Benedict Biscop, for Paul the Team Rector and for all involved in ministry in the Parish.  Pray that the whole Team may work together to grow the kingdom of God. 
 
Friday 16th July - Bridgewater Drive, Wombourne 
Please pray for the countries of the Holy Land.  Pray particularly for peace and justice to grow between Israel and the Palestinian territories. 

Saturday 17th July
 - Brindley Close, Wombourne 
​Please continue to pray for Northern Ireland, for the fragile Good Friday Agreement to remain firm while negotiating the Customs arrangements on goods moving between Great Britain and N. Ireland. 

Sunday 18th July - Trinity 7
 
Please pray for Hudson Steventon being baptized at St Michael’s today, that he will grow to know and love the Lord Jesus Christ.  Pray for his parents, godparents and all who will be there 


Monday 19th July
 - The Broadway, Wombourne 
Today is the latest day on which the Government has said lockdown restrictions will end.  Pray that it may be possible to do so, and to do so safely.  Pray that people will still take precautions when mixing together. 


Tuesday 20th July
 - Brook Road, Wombourne 
Pray for wisdom and caution as people book foreign holidays, that they not become subject to sudden charges due to changes in the traffic light system. 


Wednesday 21st July - Brookside Close, Wombourne 
Please pray for negotiations on trade with the European Union, as we seek to move on following Brexit.  Pray for amicable discussions leading to a deal favourable to both parties. 


Thursday 22nd July - Mary Magdalene 
“God of life and love, whose risen Son called Mary Magdalene by name and sent her to tell of his resurrection to the apostles: in your mercy help us to proclaim the good news that he is alive and reigns, now and for ever.” 


Friday 23rd July
 - Brunel Court, Wombourne 
Please pray for the UK Government and the devolved administrations for wisdom in all the decisions that need to be made in relation to Covid, trade developments, global warming and the future of the UK. 

Saturday 24th July
 - Bull Lane, Wombourne 
Please pray for all the other churches in Wombourne: Methodists, Pentecostals, Catholics and the URC.  Pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit  as they seek to move on after Covid. 


Sunday 25th July - James, the Apostle
 
“Merciful God, whose holy apostle Saint James, leaving his father and all that he had, was obedient to the calling of your Son Jesus Christ and followed him even to death: help us, forsaking the false attractions of the world to be ready at all times to answer your call without delay.” 


Monday 26th July - Bull Meadow Lane, Wombourne 
Pray for those who are disquieted by the plans being made for trade with other countries since Brexit thinking particularly of farmers and the fishing industry. 


Tuesday 27th July
 - Bumblehole Meadows, Wombourne 
Many people are still desperately seeking refuge in the UK.  Pray for safety as they travel  to a promised haven.  Pray that conditions in their homelands will change so that they are welcomed back. 

Wednesday 28th July
 - Calvin Close, Wombourne 
Please continue to pray for peace in many parts of the world.  Pray especially for an end to the conflicts in Yemen and Syria, and for justice for minority groups in China, Belarus and Myanmar. 

Thursday 29th July
 - Campion Close, Wombourne 
Pray for improved relationships with Russia, China and Iran.  Pray that the nations of the world will seek to co-operate together for the good of all mankind 

Friday 30th July
 - Cannon Road, Wombourne 
Pray for all who are in danger on the streets, especially at night.  Pray that the situation will change so that women always feel safe, and that conflicts within ethnic minority groups or between white and black will be overcome by good faith 


Saturday 31st July
 - Cedars Avenue, Wombourne 
As we, hopefully, put Covid behind us, let us pray for the hope that is ours in Jesus Christ, trusting in God our Saviour to walk with us all our days in the power of the Holy Spirit.
